GOYA

DIRECTOR | WRITER | CINEMATOGRAPHER

LA-based developing filmmaker, Yangsiyu "Goya" Gao, has been pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Cinema and Television Arts at California State University, Northridge.
He was born in a southern Chinese village where he witnessed the destruction of nature under the intrusion of urbanization. These experiences deeply influenced his perception and artistic expression, leading him to pursue naturalism in his works. His early involvement in science and technology competitions, as well as studies in computer programming, honed his logical thinking skills.
His works bridge the gap between sensibility and rationality, exploring the contradictions of the relationship between human beings and themselves, others, and nature.
The Wind, a novella he has been working on, which narrates the anecdotes experienced by a culturally diverse man who was invited to spend Christmas in a small town in Central California, is nearing completion.
